Whats up DGC. I have a question for the community out there regarding a new purchase of a 4×4 tent from Vivosun. I am currently in a 2×5 closet with 4 plants in 3 gal radicle bags but with the weather lately its been so damn frustrating trying to control the temp in the room for the closet. (Since its not completely sealed off) I found a deal for under $100 on the tent. I have two 5 gal radicle bags unused and would like to incorporate them in this new setup along with the 3 gals. I have one 4 in AC Infinity Fan with controller and 1 vivosun 205 cfm duct fan. I also have two 105 CFM inline fans for those summers in GA. I’m reaching out to find out the DGC advice on setting this tent up. I am only growing autoflowers and will have 2 Obsul33te Alien OG photos in veg in the tent and placed in a separate tent for flower later down the road. I have been using the AC fan for 2 weeks now and i have it mounted on my wall about 3 ft under my duct fan in the bedroom so whatever air is coming out the vents get pulled into the Fan blowing that fresh air into the tent and then i have the 205 CFM fan on top of tent exhausting air out of the tent. Right now the 2×2 tent the fans are set up on is running around 72-79 degrees and 45-55% RH. I am hoping with a bigger tent i will be able to put a humidifier as well as a dehumidifier in the tent as needed to control the environment. For fan and duct hose placement what would be best? Having carbon filter inside tent or outside and also should i use a carbon filter on each of the fans? Or just exhaust during flower? Can’t have my neighbors smelling the dankness. I want to invest in an automated environment but slowly it will happen. I have a wifi Hygrometer I can see how the temps are when i’m at work, but if anything changes i can’t do anything. I’ve seen these Wi-Fi plugs that can be turned on by an App? Anyone used these for automating when your not home? Anyway I can keep rambling on.. I hope to get some good feedback. I know SOUP has some good info on the AC infinity fans. So hope to hear from you brotha.
Stay Irie friends
A couple things to keep in mind…keep a negative pressure in the tents to keep the smell contained. An inlet fan is an easy way to advertise your dank room.
Having a humidifier and dehumidifier in the same room fighting each other is a sealed room kind of thing, plus the dehumidifier will add more heat to your tent. The humidifier in the tent is fine, but it’s going to be sucked out by the fan. A recirculating system is what is going to work best for your setup. Another way to dehumidify is to simply use a fan as a room dump.
I don’t know much about those wifi controllers, but your basic temp/rh controllers are under $40 and will automate your equipment based on your +/- setpoints. I have 3 of them and they are staples in my grow.
A carbon filter in each tent constantly exhausting out is whatcha gotta do when odor is a problem.
I wrote this with you in mind… hopefully it helps.

Also just a few bits of advice specific to your setup:
-Not sure what’s going on in that first pic with the multiple fans hooked up to one small tent, but you really only need one exhaust fan for a tent that size. I recommend NOT using an intake fan and using passive intakes instead. You want the exhaust fan sucking air through the carbon filter and blowing out the top of the tent, and passive intakes down near the floor sucking cool air in. (See the pics in the guide)
-For your specific setup, I would use your AC Infinity fan as an exhaust for your tent so you can use the automated control features. Then I would setup the vivosun fan in the room outside the tent with another carbon filter just scrubbing odor and blowing the air back out into the room. (Theres an example of a setup like this in the guide. It’s the page that starts with “For the absolute best grow environment and odor control, setup a second fan and carbon filter”)
-You can actually run your tent a bit warmer with LEDS. You typically want to run temps in the low 80s for best performance. I have my AC Infinity controller setup with the high temp setting at 81 or 82 and it keeps things dialed in nicely.
Good tip about the room fan with a filter. I run my room like that sometimes and the only way I was about to make it work in a 12×12 bedroom was to run my 6″ canfan max pro at full speed with a 24″ canlite filter. I just set the filter on the floor with the fan sitting on top blowing straight up.
Anyway, that was my experience with it in case that helps anyone.
Thanks guys for the comments and replies. I will be getting the 4×4 early next week and will start the setup. Thanks for guide SOUP. I have the PDF saved and will be going back to it as a great reference.
