Hey DGC, my buddy gave me a brand new bottle of alchemist stout MSA. I’m running biobizz’s full line with botanicare cal-mag, cause I run RO water. Was thinking about adding Silica to my reg to help with the heat I’m goin to be battling soon in my grow room. The directions kinda sketched me out cause it says it interacts with some stuff. I’ve used house and garden amino treatment which has mono silicic acid and was easy to use. I was worried about it lowering my pH too much and having to add all that potassium bicarbonate to raise my pH back up or it reacting with something. What’s the proper way to mix and what does it react with? Hope all is well.
Your friend,
The Kid
Silica (silicic acid), like carbon, wants to create bonds. You want to mix silica products in water with little to no minerals first. This allows the concentrated silica solution to dilute in plain water before other elements are introduced.
Hands down the best I’ve used comes from a company that needs alot more light.
Yellow bottle Silica an its at 31%silicon monosilicic acid
It shocks me you have a list of so many companies but your missing some of the best Additives I have ever used .
Yellow Bottle for the win
Almost all silica raises your ph
Its Best foliar sprayed an used as root applications becouse the plant uses it at the time of application an then you need to apply it again withing 3 days to a week .
I put in in R.o water let it settle for a couple hrs then ph to 7.0 as directions on Agricultural organics site. Silica is always added first.
Thanks for all the advice guys.elite 91 has a super concentrated MSA to,but it’s so expensive. So I will dilute it down and give it a try.yea I was wondering cause house and garden amino treatment you can add it any time and in any order to your feed mix.when can I start adding in.I just transplanted my clones for my next run and am one feed in.thanks again guys.
thanks for the tip Mystro!
I use this product, and it doesn’t mess up the ph at all. Other silica products WILL mess it up big time, with the added benefit of not even being available to the plant for 6 months. This one won’t.
