Hello to all of the fine people of the DGC,
I am moving to Belize in the not so distant future, and I am hoping I can cultivate some outdoor Indica once I get there. I am concerned that Indica will not do so well in that sativa environment. My question to you all is will Indica do well there? I know this is more of a Guru question, but maybe there is some DGC already around the Corozal area that may have some experience. It is not hard to find cannabis there but it is not like they get very specific about strains. Sativas have a tendency to make me extremely anxious and I try to avoid that at all cost.
Thanks to all of you,
Jinxcat
I’m interested in the answer to this as well. It’s going to be interesting because at that low a latitude (you’re pretty much equatorial) you’re looking at what, 14 hour days at most? May be pretty tough to KEEP cannabis from flowering when you’re running so close to 12/12 year round.
@ PacNW Dan, That’s a fun fact , Actually when we hit 14hr days the plants react as if it’s 12/12 they go to sleep 2 hrs earlier making it a 12/12 cycle so start indoor then move out to flower….
good luck on your journey.
I’m not a landrace strain expert, but there is a large number of landrace Indicas hailing from Africa. Im sure growing conditions aren’t ideal out in the Congo. Cannabis will find a way to grow though. As long as you are getting that 1212 light cycle in flower and a temperature between 75 and 85 you should be ok. You might have to find a way to do light deprivation though.
I would also chose an indica Hybrid strain. One that is known for being grown in sea of green or scrog. Lots of lateral branching. It’ll grow like a sativa and give you the yield you are looking for without sacrificing the high.
Thanks to everyone for the input. I will probably run a string of lights over then for a few hours every night until they are big enough to flower.
