I’ll be able to legally grow 5 plants in January. After learning about grafting multiple strains onto a single mother I started to wonder if I could maybe plant 4 clones in a large outdoor pot and train the stems to cross each other and maybe tape the stems together with rooting hormone or something and see if they will fuse into 1 huge plant. If it works i could start indoors early in the season then clone 3 more plants as soon as the first 4 grow together. Then maybe I could get the second set to fuse and throw in a couple autos to finish the outdoor season so I could maybe harvest up to 9 plants plus keep a mother without ever being over my 5 plant limit. Thoughts?
Can I reduce my plant counts by fusing stems together?

Multiple root stocks in a single pot would probably still be considered multiple plants. The size of the plant/s and yield is restricted by root mass. One or four plant’s yield in a pot will still be limited to the pot size. Grafting multiple cultivars on a single root stock would take longer to fuse and grow big compared to just vegging a single plant. If you want more variety you’d still need to have at some point more than 5 plants to take cuts from and graft onto another plant. Grafting takes time and is not a quick process.

If you wanna grow 9 plants, just grow 9 plants and don’t tell anybody.
If you grow cannabis at all, you are already breaking federal laws. Growing any cannabis is still federally illegal no matter what state you are in. You are still breaking federal law wether it’s 5 plants or 9. There is no way to grow cannabis and be compliant.
You have to ignore federal law to grow at all, might as well ignore the plant limit too.
I personally think it’s time to stop letting old dudes in suits tell us how to garden. It’s time to stop asking for permission to grow a BENEFICIAL LIFESAVING PLANT and just fucking do it.
Nobody’s telling me how much sugar I’m allowed to consume, how many cheese burgers I’m allowed to have, or how many weapons I’m allowed to own. An excess of those things kill thousands of people every year while cannabis kills nobody. If I grow a little extra cannabis and give it away, I could potentially SAVE someone’s life.
Plant limits aren’t protecting anyone, if anything they are hurting all of us by limiting access to life saving medicine.
Plant limits are bad laws, they are immoral and we should stop following them.
