Hey DGC,
I have a quick question, would using Kefir Probiotic instead of thrive work the same on my plants. I have use Thrive in my garden and saw amazing results and also I use Kefir for my gut health every weeks.
I didn’t know if the ingredients are the same and made the same way as Thrive Probiotics by B.A.S.. I just wondering if I can use it in same way as Thrive?
Thank you

Kefir is awesome, love the stuff. Our only grub store bring it in every now and then and we they do, I take a case. We split it between my wife plants and me. The plants love it when use kifer. I kinda like 48 hr Recharge thing, you can see the difference. I fell that Kifer maybe a better product to use on your plant as they are for sure alive and booming, plus a few other good reasons like price. One of the pluses of Kifer is that you only need Tbsp per gallon, well that all I use to get great affects.
Super thrive has B vitamins and kelp and stuff right? I don’t think it’s the same thing at all.
We talking about kefir and Yah Whey Thrive not Super Thrive lol
Kefir could be classified as a LAB preparation in KNF and LABs can do wonders in the garden. Many LABs are either facultative anaerobes or oxygen tolerant which allows them to persist in various environments and offer protection if your media goes mostly anaerobic.
LABs are also a great IPM tool and offer protection against various leaf pathogens. LABs can almost be looked at as nature’s clean up crew as it can also be used to as a spray in chicken coops to control smell and pathogens.
LABs are also effective at cleaning gunk out of reservoirs such as a hempy bucket set up.
You may not need to use the whole kefir product, only the microbes off of the top before mixing it. Although harvesting the microbes off of the top before mixing it may prove difficult to accomplish out of a kefir bottle.
Harvesting the microbes off the top would probably be better if you were going to foliar with it, but if just using in the soil then I don’t see much issue as long as you don’t overdo it since it will be heavy in calcium.
I will say you bringing this up makes me crave some strawberry kefir. I may have to get some now and next thing I know I’ll be drinking the dang kombuchas again! Haha
Happy growing & #growerslove
Thank you for all your information and help. I just found a site that has all the ingredients and step by steps on how to make all kinds of different KNF. Right now I’m in the process of making fermented plant juice using all my disregarded cannabis leaves.
