Hey DGC, just have a quick question about cloning using hydroponic cloner. I have used rapid rooters in the past with domes but wanted to try a cloner for the first time. Happy to say all 20 cuts are rooted! My question is how long do you let them get before you transplant them? They are at day 14 and I gave them some grow nutrients and mammoth p once I saw roots and they are starting to green up after some yellowing early on. I will be transplanting to 6” pots in soil and just curious how much I need to let the roots grow before I transplant them.
Thanks guys! Stay safe and appreciate all the help.
You can transplant them at any time now. Their roots will grow several inches over the next few days. I like to transplant when roots are about 1-2 inches.
When you put them into the soil, do you bunch what roots are hanging down together or try to space them out. I’ve always been confused about that part lol. Anytime I try to nicely push down the soil karma comes knocking lol.
Just put them in there gently and pack soil against the stem. Trick is to not pack the soil in before hand. Keep it loose and fluffy, pre-moistened and treat it like a seedling for a couple weeks.
Appreciate the help guys. I was careful and did like you suggested. I just loosely filled up the cup and made a space for the stem and roots and put soil around it lightly to pack it in. Seems to have worked well!
