I have 6 plants that grew well, but around week 4, the great smell went down to a minimum. What could have happened?
Close to harvest, no smell

I’d like to have that problem!!! Dank in prohibition is a nightmare!
Peace,
-Bob.
Certain strains like Northern Lights are notorious for their lack of smell during flower. Can still be dank AF without stinking up the grow room. If they’re growing well otherwise I would not give the lack of smell too much thought. Another thing you could do (to help you feel better about it) is squeeze a few buds with your fingers and smell the result. Happy growing and good luck!
Week 4 isn’t the dankest of times.
The smell coming off isn’t necessarily a good thing, but not avoidable at certain times. Trichomes volatilize due to environment. Heat especially. Excessive heat is a problem anytime, but unless the bud is no longer producing these aromas and secondary metabolites (ie when the bud is harvested), loss to evaporation isn’t concerning.
The potency of aromas are not equal across all strains.
High heat, too much or light too close and too much air circulation or air exchange all of these and low humidity can dry out buds. Of course genetics are number one. Too much hybridization over the years as breeders tried to breed out loud scents. I too am in PB land and identity with the rationale but I can deal with smell but I can’t put back the Dank that has been lost. Since the 1980’s cannabis while getting ever higher in THC has progressively gotten more boring, very few of us remember getting “high” from cannabis. With more Indica crosses getting high has became getting “medicated” or “stoned” just not the same. So for a few weeks less flowering time we gave up smell, taste, complexity and the “HIGH”. Indica is medicinal, Sativa is recreational. Happy Growing 🙂

What are the temps in your room and at the canopy level?
It’s true your plants may have not developed much aroma by week 4, fairly common and often times smells will change as the grow progresses towards the end. I know mine aren’t near the full strength smell by week four of flower.
But I ask about temps, because if you run your room too hot, you can cook off (volitize) some of the terps. This leads to a great smelling grow room, but not much from the plant itself.
