Jeremy from Build a soil has been doing a ton of testing and research regarding heavy metals lately. If you are interested in this topic I would check out the blog posts about it on the build a soil website and on his Instagram.
Silica and soil moisture both seem to play a really important role when it comes to heavy metal uptake too. I’ve heard from a lot of sources that people using silica as part of their feeding are having a much easier time passing heavy metal tests.
It’s also important to note that a lot of the heavy metal issues people are having are due to unfair or unreasonable testing protocols put forward by the states. Many of the products that are failing testing are perfectly safe, they just fail to meet the unreasonable (and sometimes unscientific) testing standards that many states (like Michigan) are currently using.
That’s good stuff, very interesting about the silica. I wonder if silica is antagonistic to heavy metals. Thanks for your time and knowledge Soup, and as usual great content Scotty all you guys rock!
