Hi DGC fam. Thanks as always for all your awesome advice and help. Your a solid bunch. As per usual I do come seeking answers. I’m harvesting in next 5-7 days. It’s my first one since moving to this state. Temps are less then favorable. I have central air so regular indoor temps are always around 70 to 76 degrees. I know I could prob get the room cooler if I installed a window A/C unit. I’m wondering are there other avenues to try first. RH is not a problem, I can keep that at 60%. Any advice on how i can have a successful dry and cure with room temps at 70-76 degrees.
Drying above 70 degrees

Size of the bud matters. The higher the temp, the faster the bud will dry. 70 F with 60% RH will dry faster than you want. Above 70F and I can almost guarantee you’ll dry too fast. If it’s smokeable in 5-7 days, you fucked up. Under those conditions, anything but large colas will be harsh. If you can’t get the temp under 70F you’ll need to cut and hang the whole plant and not remove any branches or leaf until it’s dry. In a hot climate you want as much moisture as you can get in the stems and leaves to help slow the dry while keeping the air at 60% RH.
Jmystro, Thank you.
I’ll be harvesting in 5-7 days. I’ll hang the whole plant as you suggest. I’m hoping I can squeeze at least 10 days out of the dry process. After that, worst case scenario I can always add a moisture pack to the cure jar. 🙏🤞

I have used a humidifier in the dry-room. It does add more heat, but you could also use a wet towel hanging in the room for more moisture. Hope this helps.
GO DGC!!!!!!!
I’ll also harvest the day after the last watering so to try keep as much moisture as possible in stems and leaves.
If you have good insulation a window and cool night temps you could cover up as many air leaks into the dry room from the rest of the house and let the cold night air in to cool it down. Closing the window after a few hours and blocking the air leaking into the rest of the house should help keep the room cooler.
It could mess up the RH though so watch that if you try it
A portable unit with an exhaust fan out the nearest window. Or maybe bucket of ice packs with a fan pointed at them.
Keep it as close to 70° as possible. Wear sweatshirts. It’ll be a shorter drying time. The sweeter, fruitier terps will hold up pretty well. Gassy terps need the cold to survive.
