Dude and Scotty,
I’ve heard you mention this method before. Have either of you used it? Even if not, when do you think the clones should be thrown into flower?
Thanks for the help,
OldManJon
Yeah, I haven’t been around for a while, since I talked to Scotty before the 2016 election. Hospitalized a couple times, dialysis, all kinds of medical fun. My grow did not survive my stay in the hospital the first time, but I’m better and back in the growing saddle. Pleased to be listening to you again.
There’s a book called “all new square foot gardening” that could be interesting to you. I’ve got it on my shelf waiting to be read.
Disclaimer: I have not grown this way myself.
From my understanding of the method, you basically go from clone right to flower no real vegging at all, no plant training, you are just trying to harvest main colas basically. So just smash in as many as you can possibly fit into your area and let them rip once they have established roots. I would probably let them “veg” no more than a week if you think they are too small from clone. Keep us updated, I am very interested in this method…
Thanks Kara Canna and SpartanGrown. Question for SpartanGrown: did you go to MSU? I ask because though I live down I-75 from Michigan now, I graduated from MSU in ’97. Anyway, thanks again for your answers.
OMJ
I applied and was accepted to MSU, but that very same year, my father divorced my mother and took off on us, so suddenly, we could no longer afford for me to go. Instead I got a decent job and put myself through LCC. I have always been a Spartan fan however and that is how I came by my name Spartan born and raised, Spartan Grown!
Glad your feeling better OldManJon
Thanks, man. I appreciate it. It was rough, but finally getting growing again has been awesome.
Just scrog it out and keep your plant limit down
Is this the old “Sea of Green” method? I knew a guy who did that 25 years ago, his grow looked like 100 green lollipops. His grow took half the time, but when he got busted it was horrible because of the total plant count.
Love this method, though I have often let my clones veg upwards to 14 days in some runs, I wouldn’t recommend much veg if you’re short on space. I’ve met many growers who have made a living with this method.
