Hello growers. This is my second grow in a row that I’ve had this Bubba Kush strain from Seedsman herm around day 27 of flower. I’ve talked to a could people about what I’m doing and I wanted to check with you all to see if these reasons are where I’ve messed up.
What I’ve been told is that trimming lower branches and staking plants to open them up is where I’m messing up and what’s causing my plants to herm. My environment is pretty on point (Not the best) in a 5x5x7 tent and I’m growing 5 plants with temps ranging from 67-75 with a 45-55rh. I exhaust the air out of my home and my tent has many fans rotating air around the tent.
When I was told that trimming lower branches in flower is a “no-no” I was a little shocked because I thought that cutting lower branches would promote “top bud growth”? Also, I thought that is was ok to use something like bamboo sticks to tie back plants to open them up so that I can get deeper light penetration?
What am I not understanding and is the reason for my plants become herms because of the branch trimming and staking?
