Ok so after many years of growing in soil I ran a hempy bucket for the first time. I did 3 plants in soil (4 gallon pots) and 1 hempy bucket (3 gallon bucket). I’m at day 52 of flower and beginning my flush with the soil plants. My question is how to approach the flush with the hempy.? Should I treat it like soil ? Flush closer to finish?

BTW the hempy is kicking ass. Did a comparison with Gorilla Glue clones. One in soil one in hempy. Will post the outcome when chopped ,dried, cured, weighed and tasted . So far hempy looks to be stacking bigger buds.
I think I would flush the media the same as I would in a regular nursery pot, my concern would be cycling enough water to exchange what’s held up in the mini-reservoir in the hempy. I’ve never grown in a hempy bucket and I could be missing something, but I bet you could put a plugable hole in the bottom and get a real nice flush 🙂
I think I may have misunderstood the question, if your hempy has straight coco in it, I think you’d wanna go longer than a soil mix, but it’s all in the trichomes.
Since you only have one, it’ll be easy.
I have done it a couple of ways.
1. Bring it to your bathtub and tilt the bucket over until almost all the reservoir is dumped out. Now just drown the roots in water. I take a 5gl jug of water and pour it through. I’ll test the run off of the initial water coming out and take a note. Don’t be surprised to see it running out around 2000ppm. Just keep passing water through it until the runoff matches the Ppm of the water you’re putting in.
2. Get some saucers to put under your pot and a shop vac. I use Mr buckets from home Depot. $30 for one that fits on any 5gl bucket.
Do the same thing as the bathtub but this way you’ll have to stick around and watch, so you can suck up the water before it overflows.
I’ll do this 3 or so times before chopping, over a 2 week flush.

pots. I’ll put them on a steel grate over a 5 gal bucket and
run 3-4 gallons through them once or twice during the 2 week flush.
You answered my question though which was really when to
initiate flush. So I will start feeding plain water to hempy now and
run 2-3 full flushes before chopping her down.
Note: So far my Hempy experiment is going really well.
