Greetings from the beautiful Valley!
I am a long time watcher of the YouTube channel making my first post as a patreon member of the DGC. I was curious if anyone has combined Grow Dots tech with the Earth Box tech? What recommendations might you have for me to run 2 autoflowers in a grow box? Will a 75 G pouch enough power to take me girls to the Finish? Earth boxes are 10 gallons, mounded 12+. Am I doing the math right? Any further suggestions? Thanks for all the laughs, inspiration, and helpful tips you and the DGC have given me over the years. Proud to call myself a DGC producer!
I was considering the same thing myself but for garden vegetables. Eager to hear if it would work.
As for your condition that’s beyond rough. The bit of hope I can offer is elon musk’s neuralink company’s whole goal is to solve your problem with a microchip in the brain that re-links your motor skills. Look into it!
I have run single autos in EB JRs and the amount of roots completely covers the top of the medium as well as fill the rez granted the regular EBs are twice as big but still gonna be competition between the plants root zones.Cant help with the dots i have only run organic dry amendments.
I have a single plant in a “city picker” sub irrigated planter which is very similar to the earthbox and its going really well.
i used about 12 gal of coco and went with the medium rate of growdots.
My only concern with your plan is the veg time. Grow dots are designed for 1 month of veg and two months of flower. If you put two plants in an earth box for a 1 month veg they are probably going to get too big. One plant for a 1 month veg seems like a better plan.
My single plant has been in the city picker for 3 weeks and its already ready to flip. If you put two plants in there for a 4 week veg things are probably going to get pretty over grown.
Jeremy from build a soil is doing 2 autos in an earthbox right now, he grows organic but there’s no reason you can’t do 2, train them away from each other. And trellis them
Beware 2 plants 1 pot. I just finished that experiment and the results sucks. One plant dominated the top layer while the other’s root ball slid beneath it and dominated the bottom layer. The top plant came out with coals the size of baby arms and ZERO potency. Waste of a plant. The bottom one gave me dab sweats and was amazing.. all 12 grams of it.
It was stunted and screwed. Little moonrock nugs but that’s it. The experiment taught me it’s a total waste of time unless the plants are kept separate.
