I’ve got a 29 day old bag seed that I got sexed by Farmer Freeman. It is a girl and as of 11/22/20 it has formed some preflower calyxes. But none have white hairs despite it being almost 72 hours. I’ve looked through a loop and still nothing. Is this normal? Btw love the community and look forward to hearing from all you. Soil: FFOF 5 gal pot.
That is a suspect female, but could just be the pic. usually 35-45 days to show obvious signs. Give it some time.
Don’t expect it to look like a flowering plant with pistils galore. I say that just from the wording of your question, not sure how much you know. No offense.
I usually start to see them within a week, but they are very thin and short. I watch like a hawk to determine as soon as I can. I don’t see anything conclusive in the picture as to the sex.
Sometimes when a plant gets a little stress, it will show pre flowers. For me, it is usually about the 7th node I see it first and generally this is after I’ve done my topping and removing of some lower branches.
This differs from strain to strain. At least from my experiences. I’ve had plants show their sex early, what seems to be within normal operation times as well as a little into flower. Just watch for those to start growing AWAY from the stem on a stem. I’ve they stay put, flush with the stem, watch for hairs. As long as you check every day, twice a day, you will be fine if its a male. Plenty of time to remove him before his sacs bust open. Growing requires patience. This isn’t Looney Toons where you can drop vitamin B12 on it and it grows huge before your eyes,lol. Keep on it and give it time! You got this
I’d start a couple more, and not from bag seed. The reason being, it may end up being a herm. Growing 1 might not be a problem, especially if your time scale of inspection is on 5-minute intervals.
Hours? My guy! Lol. Your patience will be greatly rewarded. I also agree with Coach Steve, that IS a suspect female.
