You guys are awesome . Listen to your show everyday while at work. Much appreciated for what you guys do. My question is that I grow indoors. Temp 78 deg. RH varies on age but right now they are 24 days at 65%. I don’t change anything during summer or winter. They are so slow growing in the winter months. Summer they grow so good. Why do they grow so slow in the winter months. Cheers

Root zone temp can effect growth. If the canopy is hanging around 78, how about on the floor? Are they sitting on a cold surface like a cement garage floor?
Do you open your windows in the summer, which replenishes CO2 levels quickly?
They are in a tent.in my basement . It is sitting on the floor . I do have them sitting on those plant stands that are like 2 inches off the floor. It is a good idea I will check the root temp. There are no windows . Vented to the outside. It’s the exact same environment during both seasons. Anyway thanks for the response I’ll check it.cheers
Sounds like things are dialed down there. Do check that root zone temp though. Thats my leading thought. Enjoy the grow!
I think you have something there with the CO2 levels. Maybe just bump up your air intake by adding a new inline fan or turning up the one you have if that’s possible.
Cheers! Funny, I have ran into and am running into the same thing. Back home in my basement, and now in my new place. The new place is an apt, in a tent, with exact temps and rh controls year round. I have come to my own conclusion that the plants just know… AND feel our energy. That being said, having the thought and stresses of them not growing as fast/well during the winter months, has them growing in that manner. We manifest our realities. And I believe that’s in all aspects of life and reality. My plants definitely feel my stress, and grow accordingly. As of lately I have begun to reset myself and get out of my own head, I’ve noticed the plants perking up and responding to my influences. Just my two cents! -All Hail The DGC-
What about your water source? Is it colder in the winter? Like Chad was saying the root zone temp is the major factor. If you follow the soil temp in your area in early spring you can get a good idea when the grass and vegetation will take off.
I miss my basement grow, it was very consistent year round as well besides getting fairly dry in the winter months. The only other thing I would suggest is maybe another thermometer towards the bottom of your tent and maybe you can average that with your other thermometer and maybe you can see a difference in the seasons. You may see that your tent runs about the same temp, but is it cycling new air at the same rate? That really depends on your if you have a controller for the environment or if you just always have air cycling. Generally though, I get better quality in the winter and better yields in the summer.
I am going with cold root temps
Are your pots on raisers or on the ground??? Get some air flow under the pots and see if that helps.
