Whats up DGC, need some advice here. I have a carbon filter for my exhaust already. Just got my air conditioner in, it has a 6 inch exhaust that goes to a baffle outside. (Portable ac unit) But the smell is coming out of it pretty heavy. Im looking at a INLINE carbon filter for it. But its $220. Would a carbon filter hooked to a fan inside the room filter the room enough? Cause that would be much cheaper. On week 6 of flower, and the smell is getting dank. Thanks and happy growing!
Inline carbon filter?

Either your filter is expired or there isn’t a constant negative pressure in the tent. With the a/c exhausting outside, it is creating a negative pressure in the room which will pull air from window openings or through an unsealed door. With a negative pressure in the tent, all odor within the tent will pass through the filter and come out odor free unless it is expired or not using the minimum/maximum cfm fan.
Recirculating the room with another filter won’t do much good unless it is recirculating all the air before it passes through the a/c…sounds impossible.
Ha! Heard your question on the show today…sorry I misread and thought you were in a tent.
That could be a cheaper route though, getting a tent.
Hope the guys helped you out, good luck.
Will the fan on your A/C be powerful enough to push or pull air through an inline charcoal filter? Probably not, so that’s something else to figure out if the air needs to get vented outside.
I haven’t used one myself, but maybe look into an ozone generator to treat the A/C exhaust before it goes outside. Sorry not to be more useful than to just float the idea. Good Luck.

Best bet it to cool the room the tent is in instead of just the tent. The hose on the ac is used to take inside air to cool unit and remove heat pushing it outside. This is why they always recommend a dual hose ac so it doesn’t use inside air to remove the heat. Like mentioned above the carbon filter will have to be designed to work with that ac unit or will risk damaging the ac unit.
