Our first round of pheno-hunting for our best 9 Pound Punch plant wrapped up with two leaders, and — I was going to say “one winner: Pheno #2.”. But now, 12 days in the jars, and I’m thinking #3 may be the closest to what I was looking for. Right now, it’s a toss-up. I need more choices.
Thus, we’re about the flower the remaining 9 seeds (I think 6 females at the moment, but we’re still a bit premature for fully reliable visual sexing).
These two are now in cure, about 15 days in the jar so far. #2 definitely has some sweet berry notes and a hint of minty menthol. She had the most gorgeous deep red/yellow/blackish “tiger striped” type fade. #3 is way more tropical. Opening the jar you’re hit in the face with kind of a slightly-sour papaya/mango “orange-colored tropical fruits”–it’s like the warm breeze you smell wafting by a roadside fruit stand in Hawaii. #3 wasn’t the best looker–honestly a rather bland fade to yellow. But I think her bud may be my favorite. At the end of the day, It’s not all that relevant what color the fan leaves faded to when you’re grinding it up.
And this bud brings it.
Looking forward to the next round.
