I have a grow tent Arriving Monday Feb 2. I have 3 plants 15 days from seed in a closet I made into a temp grow area. However I have discovered light leaks, and a blue night light on my humidifier my RH is 75% 71% my temp is 79-84 my 40% Ocean forest, 50% pro-mix and, 10% worm castings +recharge GG#4 Moby dick, and critical mass all auto’s QUESTION; will this light leak cause damage and the blue night light should I cover it up??? thanks for your input and am a die-hard DGCer fan this is my second attempt got work blocked last time. Less worry with autos and the damage would be a seeded crop. Also the stress is detrimental once she starts flowering and definitely cover up any lights.
I don’t think light leaks are a concern with autos. Or when in veg with regular photoperiods. Goodluck on the second attempt and happy growing!
At this stage your should be fine with those autos, but do look to correct the light leaks before flower. Just the way the hormones work in the plant, they are going to need some solid shut-eye when they flower. Hopefully your tent arrived today though.
The light from your dehumidifier is not likely strong enough to trigger any phytochrome response or in the case of most concern, any hermie issues.
There is an ongoing study of how intense the light needs to be and in what spectrum to cause those problems, but no answer is available yet. Just consider the moon, the moon doesn’t cause every plant in the filed to herm out, and it can be bright enough to see your shadow at times…. That said, I still put electrical tape over all of my lights on power strips, fans ect inside of the grow room.
