Good day DGC,

My question is WHY DID MY PLANTS ALMOST DIE BECAUSE I PUT LIGHTS UNDER THE PLANTS? I’M just a newbie. Thanks brothers for producing a wonderful podcast. The membership fees are well worth every penny 👍   Your new member PA PA 0420.

    Under lighting isn’t as good as we would assume, this is due to Phototropism – the plant grows towards the light.

    In the case of lighting from above and lighting from below, the plant will grow towards the strongest light source. For the under canopy, that may be the bottom light, which is in conflict with the rest of the plant and the opposite direction we want it to grow.

    So while added light and PAR sounds attractive on paper, in practice, not always the right choice.

    What looks dead? The orange hairs? Possible pollination or physical stress(fan/arm) can cause this.

    I don’t see anything dead but I see that the white hairs turning orange and drawing back. That’s good news. That means your bud is in the next phase of maturing.
    I would not do any under lighting. I think it may be counterproductive with your other lights above it.

    Could be that it raised temps too much for the plant, what media do you use?

    I use a 60w under my canopy when it gets too thick to avoid the larf and it does work. It saved the quality of my last grow. It raises Temps so you have to watch that. I suspect its something else. You didn’t supply enough info. If your in coco it can raise your EC when it dries out if the Temps get too high. Keep an eye on all of your parameters.

    I was just gonna say the same thing as the last guy, there really isn’t enough info here for a proper diagnosis.

    We would need alot more info about temps, RH, other lighting, grow media, nutes etc etc etc .. bit I also agree I don’t see anything dead. Maybe I could elaborate a little bit . Otherwise, looks good… gg’z
