Dear DGC,

My Appreciation: I came across the show a couple years ago while looking for a decent gardening podcast.  The Dude Grows Show and the corresponding community has far exceeded my expectations.  The show has been very informative without being boring and even entertaining.  My vegetable gardening has even improved because of you guys.  Thank you Recharge!  I have even spread the word to others about the show and your supporters.  Keep doing what you’re doing!

My (Secret) Grow:  located in FL panhandle (congressional representative is a pedophile)

about a 10’x15’ grow room I built in an insulated storage shed.  Window AC that exhausts into other part of shed (about same size as grow room). NIWA grow system controlling lights, AC, dehumidifier, and humidifier.  Lights: SF4000 and SF2000 during veg.  added another SF2000 during flower.

Irie Genetics Golden Goat: 6 out of 10 seeds popped.

2 are planted in Build-a-Soil’s take and bake kit with medium dosage of Grow Dots, in 5 gal Radical Bags topped with perlite

2 are planted in Build-a-Soil’s take and bake kit with low dosage of Grow Dots, in 5 gal Radical Bags topped with perlite

1 is planted in Build-a-Soil’s take and bake kit with medium dosage of Grow Dots, in 10 gal Radical Bags topped with perlite

1 is planted in DWC system using Krapky(?) method. 5 gal bucket with Hydroton media and 3 part PH Perfect Advance Nutrients (left over from hydroponic pepper experiment).  I also put a large Air Stone in the bottom to keep nutes from getting stagnant

2 Bag Seeds that popped 2 weeks later:

1 planted in 5 gal Grow Bucket with Coco and medium dosage Grow Dots

1 planted in 5 gal Grow Bucket with left over Build-a-Soil take and bake kit and medium dosage of Grow Dots.  This plant turned male (pic included) and I pulled it from the grow.

During Veg I had the NIWA set to keep VPD 0.9 to 1.1

After switching to Flower I have NIWA set to keep VPD at 1.1 right before and during lights on (target temp 77F, target humid 65%.  When the lights go off I have set it to keep the VPD around 1.45 (target temp 81F, target hum 59%)

I plan on doing a leaf stripping on the 21st and 42nd day of flowering

Been using tea light candles to add a little CO2 (safely on tile and terracotta)

Water in Recharge weekly and Seaweed Solution every 3-4 weeks

Considering trying the recent idea I heard on the show about increasing light time to 18hrs for the last 10 days of flower….not sure though.

My Question(s):

  1. Any advice/suggestions/comments on what I am doing now?
  2. If all works out well then I will HAVE to harvest these ladies the very first week of June (week 8-9 of flower) because I will be leaving town for the next 4 weeks. Ideally, I am hoping to be able to cut and hang the plants in the Grow room and set the NIWA to keep the environment optimal for a slow cure.  I think it should be able to keep the room at 60% RH and close to 62-67 F.  Also, I have my dehumidifier draining into a 5-gal reservoir (is that big enough)?
