Pollen Sacs? Posted by Mag1ctg | Jan 13, 2021 | Grower Questions | 10 | Wanted to know if you guys could help identify if these pre-flowers are male or female?
jmystro on January 13, 2021 at 2:09 am Only females have pre-flowers. Males have pollen sacs. Your plant is a male. Log in to Reply
Chad.Westport on January 13, 2021 at 2:40 am I would say male because the head of it is on a stalk. Females usually melt right into the stem, but males will often tip their hand by showing that little bit of separation. I’d say it is a tad early to worry and you have time to let them develop a little if you want to be double sure, but it does seem to be a male. Log in to Reply

HizHighness69 on January 13, 2021 at 9:01 am I’m with Chad, but dont’ have Sunny’s eyes. I would watch and see, but that’s because I’m a less than 1 yr grower noooob. 🙂 But I’ve only ever had femenized seeds, and I saw one bananna once, so my experience is nill. Log in to Reply
RUSTY-KNUTS-KEK-KING on January 13, 2021 at 11:30 am Looks like its a feller. To be sure give it another week, you will really be able to see by then. They dont drop pollen immediately so you’re okay there, but keep and eye out and move it away from direct airflow from the fans to prevent any accidental pollination Log in to Reply
TogetherMeow on January 13, 2021 at 12:02 pm Too early to tell. Definitely not showing any sign of being female yet. Plenty of plants will put out a little extra branch at that spot that will look like a male pre-flower (which exist) at first. That growth needs a bit of time to show what it really is or a closer look under a magnifier. I’ve also had plenty of plants put out sort of unformed pre-flowers before putting out more identifiable growth with the next few nodes. Be patient. -T. Meow Log in to Reply
RASUFA on January 13, 2021 at 2:20 pm It looks a bit tiny to be sure but looks male to me. Sorry homie. If you have a spot to put him into flower you can get some pollen for crossing. Log in to Reply

Mag1ctg on January 14, 2021 at 9:31 am Thanks for the help. I’ll wait a couple more days to be certain. I have been lucky a never actually grew a male , even with all of the bag seed I’ve grown. I have a run full of autos right now so nothing lost with this one. This is in a smaller tent for fun and experimenting with things I wouldn’t dare try on an auto. Log in to Reply
