Should I pH before or after adding the Recharge? Usually I pH nutes after adding everything, but I though I heard one of the guys say to adjust the pH first, then go with it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Unless your water source pH is very alkaline (above 7.5), I wouldn’t bother adjusting the pH. The kelp in Recharge makes it a bit alkaline. That’s not an issue in any media. You can lower it to around 6 before mixing in Recharge if you want. You should not be running more than about 8 oz of liquid around the stalk and that’s not enough volume to change the pH of your media. The microbes will instantly start consuming the food sources and will regulate the pH very quickly.
Hey Mystro I know this is an old post, but why would you say we are only using 8 oz of liquid around the stalk? I usually water a couple cups of recharge at a time in a 3 gallon fabric pot
I don’t get the sense that Mystro likes repeating himself. Scroll up and read his post again. Recharge raises your ph and makes the water a bit alkaline. By only pouring 8 oz of your recharge mix you won’t drastically raise the PH in your medium. When I am watering babies and small plants I use even less. Just a dash on the babies and a few squirts in the solos. I stay with 4-6 ounces when they are in 6″ pots and go up to 8 ounces when they are big.
Definitely before
From the Real Growers website:
PRODUCT USAGE
Use weekly from rooted clones or seedlings, to transplants, to late flowering plants.
Recharge can be tank mixed and added to your usual water / nutrient solution. We suggest adding Recharge last, after you adjust your pH. Recharge will initially raise the pH of your solution, but you do NOT need to correct it. The microbes in Recharge are able to actively feed plants at a wide range of pH levels.
Clones / Seedlings
Innoculate when first roots are visible with ½ tsp per gallon water / nutrient solution.
Vegetative Plants
Use 1 tsp per gallon of water / nutrient solution, once a week.
Transplants
Water in at 2 tsp per gallon water / nutrient solution to minimize transplant shock.
Flowering Plants
Use 1 tsp per gallon of water/nutrient solution, once a week.
Stop using one week before flush.
Enhance Your Compost Tea
Recharge can be added to your existing Active Aerated Compost Tea recipes. When brewing, expect a beautiful heady foam to develop so leave some room at the top of your brewer. Please use sparingly, as it is highly concentrated. Try ½ tsp per gallon.
Recharge Quick Compost Tea
You can also brew Active Aerated Compost Tea with just Recharge and water. Start with 1 tsp per gallon for a mild tea. When brewing, expect a beautiful heady foam to develop so leave some room at the top of your brewer. Ready to use after 15 mins. Do not brew longer than 24 hrs.
Once Recharge is mixed with water, use within 24 hours.
