Was thinking about placing some CDs on my dirt to reflect light back up. There was some stuff I found online about people planting their seed in the middle of the CD. How reflective is the CD? When its on the dirt it hurts my eyes to look at and I think this is good for getting light under the plant. I have a bunch of old CDs.

This will one of those silly things you look back on and say, “haha I used to do that.”
Interesting thought.
To find out how efficient it would be, you would have to determine what spectrum it reflects, how it diffuses the light and to what extent it is adding usable light.
You also have t consider, once the plant gets a few branches, your only option out is to cut the cd off. Likely would make watering a pain.
Interesting in concept, not that great in practice. IMO
Decent reflectivity 65-70 percent but not as good as flat white paint up to 85%.
They will be better for coasters on the coffee table.
Don’t bother, i tried it with 8-tracks and it proved worthless.
