What’s up Dude, Scotty, and Guru! Quick breeding question.
I have a plant that I pollinated to get seeds for a new cross. I also would like to keep around the genetics from the same female by revegging and later taking clones. I pollinated on the late side and the seeds probably need a few more weeks to develop. Here’s my question: do I need to harvest the seeds before I reveg, or can I reveg and harvest the seeds later? Asked another way, will revegging hurt seed development of a pollinated plant?
Thanks in advance for the help and keep spreading the good word on growing!
Rasta Jeff just put out a reveg (566) episode in which he details his reveg technique and does mention pollinated plants. From what I understand, he only leaves a few leaves, lol, and smaller buds and removes the rest for collecting the seeds. I’m trying it myself on an unpollinated plant that I don’t really want to lose but gonna practice the technique for a situation when I damn sure want to keep a phenotype. Bueno suerte!
I had thought that you would need to continue the 12 / 12 cycle to have the proper conditions for the plant to continue making seeds. But someone here told me, you can pollinate a plant and then put it back in the veg room and it will be fine….. but I’d have to test it to believe it, which I haven’t had the time or desire to do. Kind of seems contradictory to me, but I’d love to know how it turns out for you.
You can definitely put her back in the veg and finish it out.and the seeds will finish maturing.
Then cut it down to a few branches and let it reveg I am doing one right now that is just starting to revert. You can take the remaining seeds out after you cut clones from her.
