Scorpion Rspec?

So, i have a Scorpion Rspec in a 5×5 tent. At what temps should I be flowering and vegging in? What height from canopy? and also at what intensity of the light? Sorry, newbie here.

It will always be about 10 degrees hotter with the light on in a room. A tent might be up around 15 degrees hotter with the light on no matter what the air exchange rate is. You can think of it as about the same as a 500 watt heater. IMO, 85 will be about as low as you can get it. But I don’t grow in tents. Someone else could answer that more accurately. 85 degrees is doable for growing with plenty of air flow. 6 lights like that will heat a whole house if the outside temp is above zero. I know because I do that.

As for distance, without a light meter its best to use what the mfg says to use. Close to 24-30 inches at full intensity. Then you would need to start dimming the light if you run out of room to move the light up.

The actual reason you can grow at higher temps with an LED is because the leaf surface temp is less under LED’s. Therefore you can be up around 85 degrees without hurting the plant. HID lights like (metal halide or high pressure sodium) make leaf surface temp much higher and would require you to run around 78 degrees. As far as light height from plant it will depend on how much power you are running thru it. You should have a par chart with that unit and from what I hear those folks at HLG are awesome at customer service so call them if you need to. Ultimately your plants will dictate the height of your light.
