I have a simple question, im growing in a stealth cabinet with cfls and leds in solo cups. I have to grow little plants, but I’m worrying about root bounding and draining. Should I poke a bunch of holes in the side of the cup? Or one on the bottom with another solo cup cut in half to collect the run off? Or should they be fine how they are?

Unless you think you can water perfectly you’ll need some holes for runoff, or risk root rot.
Are there any holes for drainage now? If not, you should make some. You could do both things you suggest and more like flood and drain for example. They will get root bound so you’ll end up needing to water them multiple times a day which is why I suggest irrigation of some kind. Unless you’re making mini hempy’s you’ll want some holes or slits on the bottom and/or sides for sure. Hell you could cut the bottom off and fill a tray with coco and set them on top of a bed of coco.
If your willing to go a bit bigger on your pots and lower your plant count. Try stepping your best ones up to a 1gal smart pot. I have a YouTube channel where I do micro growing. With enough training your 1gal plant can get to be about 12-16 inches tall and rocking with Colas.
Ok I poked a 1/4 hole in the bottom of each cup, as well as some micro holes in the sides. Since they’re bag seeds im hoping for 50% females. Which would bring the count to 12-15. If anything less I will think about transplanting. Thanks for the info fellas.
This is the same way I started growing. What I usually do is I cut three holes in the bottom . I don’t Jeep them inside another cup cause I have learned that they start to stress maybe cause of the holes being covered. So what I would do is set them in a tray, water to run off and drain the tray. The only thing is you will be watering every day if the box gets hot. If not you will be able to get away with watering every other day. I say this because this is the way I still start my seedlings. In my old grow box , in solo cups . I have some right now growing in solo cups. They have been there since they popped. I will transfer today . If I get to it. I also have some that have been in veg since may. They are a little stressed but other then that they are good. Only reason they got stressed was the fact I missed a watering. One thing is don’t ever let them get dry. The lady I speak of is also a mother plant . So yes it is very possible . Get at me if want more help . Growers love I’ll post pictures in a bit to the dank bugs section .
