sup guys. I have 1 Blue Dream in a 5 gallon bucket dwc. Tomorrow starts week 9 of flower. But over the last couple of days the bud smell has been kinda off. Smells sour to me. The Rez does not smell like this, just buds. I’m going to change out the water today and plan to start flush in a week.
Should i flush now instead? I don’t see any bud rot or anything super weird. I do have Some fox tailing and light burns from cfl light being too close. Thx dopers.
I am not familiar with growing blue dream so I don’t know the terpene profile of it but I do know that the last couple of weeks, as long as you did everything right, the terpene profile will come out more, towards the end. That sour smell is probably just that, nothing to be worried about.
From my experience with dwc, I would still advise a 10-14day flush, so if you’re planning on chopping anytime soon, definitely start flushing.
Also of people will say hydro doesn’t need as long of a flush but I firmly believe it does, to get everything out and get the flavors on point.

Yeah I just took down 4 plants of an Afgooey x White Widow cross I have. It’s a trip, smells like a basket full of dirty socks when it’s drying, but once it’s fully cured it smells like the fresh plums that used to be on my great-grandmothers backyard tree with a very slight menthol aftertaste.
Have you grown the strain before?
