Hello everyone,
I have myself 4 black cherry punch From in-house genetics they are clones I took from my last run and they are in week 4 of flower they are in a 4×4 with a hlg650 light, ocean Forrest soil, and Remos nutes…I have been following the feed chart and adding Recharge once a week. two plants are starting to turn light green as you can see and the other two are just fine so I’m a little confused on what to do If the DGC can help a brotha out I would be very grateful.
Is there any difference in temp or light situation. Are the pale plants heavier longer? Meaning are they drying out at the same rate at the others? You got anyway to check the soils ph?
Is your light on 100% and how far off canopy is it? An HLG 650 in a 4×4 is a massive amount of light if it’s not dimmed or if there’s no CO2 added to the grow. Sometimes it takes a little while for light stress to surface.
is a 650 too much for a 4×4? the plants dont look very big. I ran a 600 watt hps in a 4×4 before it was fine but that doesnt really compare I dont think. but maybe the seeds from his last grow had that good seed vigor and could handle that much light. now that they are clones maybe 650 is too much. but why wouldnt the other plants be showing signs of stress? the plants showing signs of stress are diagonal. I would think if it was light stress the plants would be on the same side. but what do i know lol I just think its fun to log on and play plant doctor lololol. thanks sunny and dr. phil for trying to help this guy out!
A 600 watt HPS (efficiency rating ~1.2) puts off maybe 1/2 the amount of photons as an HLG 650 (efficiency rating ~2.5) So there is a big difference in the amount of light between the two. And it could be that the two that are having issues were weaker plants when the grow started and now the extra light could be affecting them worse than the others. Clones also don’t usually have the hardiness of a plant from seed. I’d keep an eye of them, a little bit of yellowing isn’t usually too concerning, I’d just be aware of light stress if that 650 is running full blast.
I agree with sunny. the lighter color ones might have just been more stressed out as clones which wouldnt make them as healthy as the other ones which means they wouldnt be able to eat as much. it kind of looks like the lighter green ones have skinnier stems and are not as stacked as the healthier ones. it could be the start of some nutrient lock out. with that being said im sure you will still get a dank harvest out of it!
The lights on full blast I have ran clones from the same mother plant for about 2 years now and i have never had light stress I was thinking that but then I remembered that the remos feeding schedule had me cut out magical bottle could that be it?
Sounds like you have your lights dialed in based on your grow history. So is this the first time you are using Remo nutrients? Yellowing up top at this time of flowering makes me think you may be light on calcium but I was reluctant to suggest it since you were not in coco but it could still be the case. Calcium can be in pretty high demand mid flower depending on the cultivar. It’s also possible that the other two plants just aren’t showing symptoms of it yet. When did you cut out the magical? Recently or for the whole grow?
I cut it out last week and this is my first time with remos I added some in to yesterday’s watering and one plant is almost yellow today
I would check the ph of the soil first. Then maybe try adjusting feeds for those plants individually.
Just because one plant likes one thing doesn’t mean the next one is going to like the same.
Have you used any fulvic or humics??? Maybe they are just having an issue up taking the nutrients. I run into this problem with my organica when I use to small of a pot. And they either got hungry or root bound.
Maybe the soil and nutrient feeding is starting to be over feeding. This could be causing a magnesium issue.
honestly. cal-mag, looks just like my tent grows under my 600rspecs. within a feed or two you should hopefully see a difference. I use roots organic cal-mag and it seems to take care of this problem. and also I use a pulse pro to measure ppfd under their lights and 100% is overkill in a tent for sure. 50-60% max in a tent with those units. but hey- that’s just me.
they otherwise look super healthy so I wouldn’t worry too much either
also at this point in flower and in that space you should probably defoliate those bad girls. strip them down a bit, get some airflow. get those leaves off each other and off the walls. you should be able to see all the way to the floor through the canopy at this point. are you about late week 3? strip some leaves down, plants will concentrate nutrients to other areas of the plant once some of the excess fan leaves and congestion is taken out of there. plus- more bud sites will be exposed and you will get better lower nuggets with that HLG blasting through there. don’t be shy to take a bunch off, the plants look like they will handle it just fine bro. 🙂 happy growing!
Thanks for the help I’ll get on it right away!
