Sunkiss from Irie Genetics Posted by Mizzfit | Dec 27, 2021 | Dank Nugs | 4 | Day 57 currently rdwc loop and one of my sunkiss phenos is looking pretty frosty so thought I’d throw it up. Interesting the two super different phenos I have with this plant but they’re both looking and smelling pretty good.
RASUFA on December 28, 2021 at 1:02 pm Not weird you have two different genotypical expression. Phenotypes are observable traits that change or express differently with environmental changes. So you are actually looking at two genotypes (difference in appearance from seed) of the same cultivated variety, which may fall under one of the species sativa, indica, ruderalis, or more correctly the two subspecies indica and ruderalis from the species cannabis sativa. All of which are derived from the genus “cannabis”. Just an added note chemotype is the chemical make up which will determine wether the plant produces THC, CBD and so on. In order to do a real “phenohunt” we need to take cuts of the exact same genotype and put them through various environmental changes to produce different phenotypical expressions. A lot of Jeff’s stuff is from an F2 generation which shows lots of genotypes. I don’t think you can expect much homozygosity from Irie Genetics. But if you want to find a special outlier his beans are great for hunting genotypes. Log in to Reply
