Two strains in the same tent… Week 6 of flower.
Remo nutes, 6.3 PhH filtered water, peat with perlite & wormcastings. Recharge occasionally. Radicle bags. Lights are white spectrum LED thsts actually using 600W. No other plant has ever had an issue with light.
Overall result is looking great. Buds are nice. Canopy is even. No pests or diseases that I can see, but each plant has a different issue…
SLHaze (left) has what looks like bleached tips & is now getting covered with long curly pistols. I’ve seen other pics where this strain just looks white & hairy. Buds are still beefing up & sticky, smell amazing. Is this a problem?
Blue Dream, right, seems to be prematurely aging. She’s already slowing down her water uptake & the fan leaves that are tucked into the buds are on the edge of turning crispy. I sort of feel like I should be doing something different, but no idea what. Experience tells me if you let crunchy leaves stay on a plant, it’s stress & a site where molds & mildew can fester.
Can you give some details on your watering and feeding over the last few weeks? Do you know the runoff ppm? Double check you light timer too. It looks like they’re overfed, but don’t listen to me I’m an idiot.
Did you by chance use A P-K booster?
Just looks more like the slh is not a heavy feeder. She’s almost looking a slight nitrogen toxic. Very last new top growth sugar leaves tipping down. Looks like the burnt tips were minimal, but with peat there is a lower ph starting point. Depending whether it was cut with oyster shell or calcium carbonate(lime) it should have the ability to buffer ph. Without that and salt build up your running the risk of low ph. Do you feed every water to 10-20% runoff? Any water only days? Maybe a 3 week flush instead of just 2. Looks like the slh is a 10 weeker and might go longer(heavy sativa leaning pheno?). The blue dream suggest 9-10 weeks of flower, so possibly got a quicker pheno more indica dominant. Also looks like yellowing is from the light, not yellowing from the bottom up.
Great looking training and buds. Good pot size and clean tent! 👍
We use Remo Nutrients and follow their schedule. They are in 7 gallon Radicle bags. They get a gallon per day right now; first day is nutes, second day is supplements (Recharge, Mammoth P, SLF-100, etc), and the third day is just water. Each gallon has a ph of 6.3. There is little runoff, and the Radicle bags re-absorb it within a few minutes. Light timer is a part of the lighting controller and is set for 12 hours. It’s been checked now & is working fine. No boosters were used.
Have you ran a 1 gl per day with other crops? No offense but that’s a red flag for me. I end up with about 2gls of water to fully saturate a 7gl bag and they are good for about 4 days. That watering schedule sounds better for a Coco grow, I can’t imagine that working for peat. So has it worked in the past?
In general it’s worked well. Like I said, I’m pleased with the development of the plants in spite of my feeling that something needs to be tweaked. Most strains have done ok, but a couple of times since going to the 7 gallon radicle bags, with certain strains, we’ve seen the crispy-ish leaves. I’d say it’s worked out 90% of the time. 90% is based in data, not just me guessing.
