Should I keep the bottom vents open on my grow tent when I am having my dark periods? I know the air flow is important but complete darkness is also said to be important. Thanks
p.s. I fucking love your show!

I have a 6″ vent I keep open for intake, and what I did to block out the light is I hooked up and clamped on with a clamp ring outer-wrap pre-filter from my carbon filter, like a big tube sock. Then, I folded over the bottom and clamped it shut with unused clothes pins from my drying area. Outside the illuminated veg tent, the (flowering) room is pitch black, but the sock filter permits full air flow. Grow hack of sorts.
If the room your tent is in is free from light leaks you are ok. If the room is not light proof head down to home depot and grab some 4”-6” ducting or tubing. Feed it thru one of your low holes that has the string and close both sides. Make a couple turns to prevent light from traveling. You can also spray paint the inside black for less reflectivity.

Both great ideas but they actually make duct end coverings that are fabric. https://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-Shield-Intake-Exhaust-Screen/dp/B0057JE5VE/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=6+inch+duct+cover&qid=1634600037&sr=8-5
I have used two of these On the end of hose that I had put of my tent for a while.
