Hello to the DGC!
I’m puzzled by this GSC from Garden of Green. The bean popped in less than 48 hrs and was planted into the same FF Happy Frog, perlite, worm castings mix that I’ve been using for a while now. She looks a little jinky at this point. She’s 2 weeks old and growing ok. She just doesn’t look right…
Any idea’s? Virus? Genetic? Pest? I’ll grow her out if it’s not a communicable disease…
Stay elevated!
Peace!
i’m no expert could be too much nitrogen. when in doubt flush her out .
peace
I’ve never tried to flush a seedling in a solo cup. I’m afraid it would be over watered which ain’t hard to do in a solo. She’s not that dark of a green either.
i was more focused on the leaf in the backside of the plant looked like scaling…
i could be wrong it is only a picture.
Looks like maybe got over watered and damaged some roots. They always grow funky after that happens. The color streaks looks like genetic variegation. That’s my guess. Where’s Mystro when you need a real diagnosis?
To be honest, she came out of the dirt looking a little raggedy and I was kinda waiting for her to fall over as she looks so spindly, but she’s actually growing in a pretty robust fashion. She just don’t look right… As for over watering, I guess there could have been a very moist pocket of soil in the solo cup. She’s looking more like the variegation is a genetic thing as her newer growth looks odd as well. I’ll post an update on her appearance in a bit, and see if there are any other guesses.
Peace!
For sure man. Good luck with her. Some plants look fucked up their whole life.
i’m curious to see how she turns out. keep us posted
A few weeks ago I started 4 seeds. While in the solo’s, 2 started and continue to grow normal. The other 2 look were both really screwed up looking and roots were not as plentiful as the other 2.
I transplanted all 4 into 2 gallon pots last week and the 2 weird ones are now starting to look normal. No clue what the issue was, but it seems to be fixing its self.
