What’s up guys and the DGC! Thanks so much for all the knowledge so far. Been doing well since I started with you guys about a year and a half ok. Thanks you you all my meds are top notch. Now time first time to deal with pest. Been really lucky thus far. I started to notice little silver shiny spot on leaves in the garden. I took a deeper look and saw what I believe to be a thrip. I have a bottle of azamax but not sure how to use. One girl is in final week of flush( seen very small traces here) and the others are ending week 3 of flower. What should I do at this point? Thanks guys!

It does look like thrip damage, but thrip damage can be similar to aphid damage sometimes. I would get a magnifying glass and try your best to ID what it is first. Since you’re so late into flower and probably shouldn’t spray anything, I would buy both yellow and blue sticky cards and put them around your plants. The yellow will attract most flying pests and the blue is specifically for thrips. That way you don’t have to spray anything, but you would hopefully get the pests off your plants and cut their life cycle.
Let us know how it goes!
Absolutely try to assess what infestation you have as agrophile mentioned, and if you’re late in flower, don’t spray those buds with anything (cold water blast is OK if you run a fan on the buds after to dry them out)
Since you have your Azamax though, I would do a strong soil drench for your plants that aren’t to flush yet, and the one you’ve already flushed… can you extend your harvest another week or two? Or maybe you can take the majority of the leaves off around your buds? Might push total yield down a little, but Depending on trich development, maybe you can flush again?
Try to get some of the Azamax systemic in the plants.. it will ward the bugs off a little, and use your sticky traps too. Remove the most damaged or infested leaves for sure too.
Good luck my friend. Kill them all lol
You could also do a light vacuuming to physically remove them. Also a very light soaping before night cycle spray leaves, stems, and stocks. Do not spraw the flower. Remove the leave with the most damage first.
I think I remember something about there being good and bad thrips.
Good luck
Good luck with those little bastard
At this point you are better off just smoking them. I wouldn’t drench azamax in the soil to get rid of thrips. I would in the future advise to put Vaseline or commercial product around the stalk of your plants and that will stop thrips. Also spray spinosad the first three weeks of flowering then just ride it out from there.
So just an update…. I have ran 2 azamax drenches and just shot the ladies with cold water. I do see more silver showing up but very little thrips themselves. I have seen maybe 6-10. Hopefully this works. As far as the one that is ready to harvest I just pulled all fan leaves and I’m just gonna harvest. Should I skip the dark period I’m assuming? Can’t really watch the plant I would guess.
Thanks for the advice… will shall see!
