Second organic grow. First using cover crop (white clover). Just wondering how do you top dress with cover crop. My assumption is that the cover crop will get ruined while mixing the top dress into the surface of the soil. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

We do not run cover crops but doing research on them and seeing other people who run them normally kill them off before top dressing
im using white dutch as a CC in 5gals. i use scissors to mow it down once a week, i let it drop for the worms to eat. i just top dressed mine for flower day one this past weekend. you should be able to evenly spread it around the pot and use your fingers to gently work the top dress through the clover stalks. yea some gets covered but that stuff grows very well. my plants arent tall either, i trained them short and round so i had to keep the clover trimmed down to allow for what i considered adequate air flow beneath the canopy. i’m also using regalia, venerate, and grandevo so im not having any issues thus far with pests some people experience with cover crops in general. the moisture retention the clover provides is also very appealing.i love looking through the CC to the dirt and see all the worm holes as they come up to feed on the trimmings.
