Greetings and salutations oh Mighty Dude, Scotty, Guru and Almighty DGC!
Simple, effective & usually free grow hack I’ve had great success with: If you needed to do some wiring to set up your grow, chances are you’ll have some leftover Romex (electrical wire). You can make great “tie downs” for doing LST using nursery pots, probably any pots… Take your leftover wire & cut as many pieces you might want to desired length(s). Then slide out individual wires from outer casing & you end up with 3 bend to suit tie downs out of each piece (2 will be coated, 1 bare copper). Take the inner wire pieces & bend a small hook on one end to grab the lip of the pot (or hole in fabric). Then loop other end around stalk to pull it down to desired height & bend wire to hold it there. Easy to adjust as needed too. Just be careful not to knock hook off pot lip if moving or watering them & replace if you do.
Personally, I prefer to use the coated wires. I’ve used bare copper when I had to without any apparent issues, but I’m not so sure if copper directly on the plant it very good for it.
