Hey Dude, Scotty, Guru and the DGC. I am looking to get a new camera to take better photos of my plants. I was wondering if Guru had any suggestions on a good camera and macro lens?
Cheers Guys

I use my iphone 13 with the built in macro lens. It’s perfect and I love how it auto-adjusts for the light level in my tent.
If you’re going to spend $800-1000 on a camera anyways it might as well come with a built in phone (ha!). These are how average ho-hum pictures turn out:

Hey there! I personally use a Canon G7X MII. Also I use a matte black poster board for the background of my shots. It’s an affordable camera that definitely performs great for cannabis shots.
Learning to utilise the camera function in a recent model smart phone makes a huge difference from shooting in ‘auto’ mode.
Look for a pro-mode function within smartphone camera settings or get a diff camera/photography app, always clean smart phone lens before use, choose 4:3 ratio, opt for .RAW format and learn the basic principles of photography like iso, aperture and focal point, then you’ll start to take better pictures.
Also editing, shoot in .RAW not .JPG as this file type retains more data and allows more functionality in post production.
