Just a quick question. On a show I recently listened to, Scotty said to add 1 teaspoon of Grow Dots to plants being started in solo cups. When should it be added? Should it be mixed with the soil or top dressed after the plants have had time to develop a little? My plants are now 12 days old. I didn’t mix Grow Dots into the soil. When should I throw that top dress on? Fairly new to the growing game (one Grow under my belt, hope the image comes through) and loving it.
Love the show!!! Keep up the great work!!!
kett whats growing on i added grow dots in after the plat was done with straight water feedings like week 3 mabey i am smoking the bud well i tried the bud after the cure it is amazing… but two tell you the truth i wish i would of let the the pot cook that means keep the pot that your going two use with whatever medium damp for i would say 1 week worked great i think 2 would of been on point perfection… there was a slow stunted thing at first after the transplant shock…. water and recharge flush every week worked great… go dgc hell ya
whoops hit return i dropped in the transplant hole and top dressed 50/50 in a 5 gal i did the small bags for a 5 gal worked flawlessly sir…i think they were 75 grams but i can not remember.. and i let the pot cook for one week i think two would of been perfect…that may have not been clear i did not get two re type any info in the message i hit return… keep on growing sir… glad two see growing your own…the grow your own community go dgc
I would have transplanted straight from solo cup to medium mixed with the dots.
For the first time using grow dots I mixed the stand-alone full dose together with 1 bag of soil, 1 bag of coco, 1tbs of root booster and am feeding with recharge. The results are explosive.
I’ve recently transitioned my perpetual grow to grow dots and am enjoying the simplicity of it. My plants are from clone though so I do not have experience with growdots and seedlings. I’ve used 10grams (2 teaspoons I believe) premixed into the media in my 1/2 gal transplantable rainscience bags upon potting my clones after they root in my aerocloner. That should give them plenty for a few weeks until I transplant them into their final containers (usually 7 gallon). This is the important part, after you put them into their final container with the dose you want for the grow you need to switch them to flower 4 weeks after transplant maybe 30 days max before the growdots start transitioning their nutrient ratios to a flower ratio.
So to answer your questions, grow dots should be added when you are 4 weeks before you want to flower the plants. You can premix it in the soil or top dress. I have put some on top and then covered with additional media as well. If you are doing an average to large dose then premixing would probably be more ideal. Once you throw the top dress mark your calendar for 4 weeks because that’s when you should flip them if they are photos. In this is an auto then you may have needed the dots in the mix a week ago depending of the veg time of the auto.
