What’s good everyone in the DGC. I have been trying to find cuts of some the brand name genetics. It seems most breeders only sell beans and clones of some of their great genetics. Now as my names suggest, I love pheno hunting as much as anyone, however, there is only so much room and resources I have to pheno hunt with. I am trying to find legit brand name breeder’s cuts for the Oklahoma market. So here’s my question: Where do you find LEGIT cuts of name brand cannabis? Are there specific nurseries known for selling certain cuts? How do named brand cuts work on the cannabis market, or is there even a market for them currently? I have asked a few of the bigger names in the seed game if they sell cuts, and get a resounding “beans only” reply from them. Any info on this would be appreciated…Stay lifted
Some dispensaries carry clones but not always reputable. Dark heart, radio ridge and wonderland nursery all in Cali. That’s the ones I’m familiar with. Im sure there’s more. Possibly instagram will have more options as well as far as different breeders directly.

Cuts are a tricky subject because of the legalities involved – because they’re cannabis containing THC they can not be, legally, mailed. So, NO reputable business (even in a ‘legal’ state) is going to mail you one. If they did, they open themselves up to some VERY serious legal charges that include loss of their business, assets and freedom. The same holds true for breeders. This means, you’ll either going to have to travel somewhere to obtain a cut and take on the risk, yourself, to transport it to your home – assuming you find a source in another state. Keep in mind, though, that you can’t purchase cuts (even in “rec” states) unless you’re a resident of that state. OR, you’re going to have to make private contact with someone that has what you want and is willing to give it to you. Then you have to figure out how to get it to your grow. Of course, the ‘rub’ here is that you NEVER know who you’re talking to online – is it someone with a legit cut and is it someone that you should be dealing with? Only you can make that determination. My feeling is that the risk isn’t worth the reward unless you find someone that you establish a long-term relationship with that is able to put you at ease. Aside from that, the ONLY way to be 99% sure a cut IS what it’s supposed to be is to contact the original breeder and see if there’s a retailer that they work with that sells their cut. If you get lucky and they do, you’ll have to go to that state and find a way to obtain a cut from the retailer or the breeder.
It’s a bummer but it’s not going to change until we have federal legalization. Honestly, with SO many good genetics being produced in seed form today, cuts are somewhat over rated and unnecessary. Sure, it’d be nice to get one but it’s just not necessary like it was 20 years ago. Breeders realize this to. In fact, there’s an effort underway to develop a seed version of an infamous ‘clone only’ strain (The MAC) going on right now. With a little luck, Capulator will be releasing a MAC Version 2 seed soon. Especially given your name, I’d just focus on pheno hunting instead of focusing much effort on “cuts.” Join some good forums (like Capulator’s) and make friends and maybe one day you’ll run into a cut you always wanted. Chances are, though, if you start with some good beans from one of the great breeders, you’ll find a pheno that you can mother that’ll meet or exceed most cuts. Remember, even the world’s most elusive clones aren’t magic – the magic is in your growing technique and your drying/curing method. An average grower with the world’s best strain wont produce flower as good as the world’s best grower with an average strain.
Ask around. Jump on a forum, ask friends, anyone that grows. You don’t need a “breeders cut” the homie down the street might have keepers and can hack off a branch for you.
You can also try IG, there are a few reputable dudes mailing cuts with gauranted delivery, and a good history.
Last resort, buy 3-4 packs of seeds from high end breeders. Hunt the packs and keep the good ones. You’ll know the plants are clean, and have experience with each strains needs. Good luck dude!
I don’t know how old this post is but I have found a few different seedbanks that sell breeder cuts. They are pricey, but quality makes up for cost easily. They will ship them via USPS, UPS, FEDEX, and probably other shipping companies. As far as legalities, my understanding is that the cuts have to meet the Farm Bill Compliance regulations and , be under .03 % THC. The place that I have ordered from makes the legal claim that they are for novelty purposes only, etc… I guess I do believe that there are some lagal hold backs because I’d think the cuts would be sold more often. I was first surprised when I saw how much some clones went for, as much as $5000, but I guess that’s the price to pay to have some of the best of the best.

lol, clones are good and fine too. They are more risks to your grow in terms of IPM, but the benefit is you know its already a girl. I’m skeptical of many peoples cuts being what they really are thinking it is. Getting breeder cuts sounds like the way to go if you have access to the breeder or farm direct. But that is like, 1% of the weed world. Seeds from reputable sources are easier to find. Good luck my friend 😉
I have about 4-5k seeds to run already. I legit don’t have anymore room to run any more seeds. I was just seeing how specifically breeders cuts work on the cannabis market.
I was really hoping someone knew a more known breeder in this industry that is known for selling cuts. I know Berner sells cuts of Cookies for like $15k but that’s too out of my price range.
