Whats up DGC,
We had a pretty hefty storm recently in MA that caused a power outage at my house from just after midnight to around 1 pm the next day, which is the majority of my light cycle. I’ve got a bunch of plants in veg right now and I’m wondering if that would be enough to throw them off hormonally and cause any kind of hiccup. It’s been a few days since the outage and everything seems to be doing fine, but I just want to know if anyone has any better info or experience with this.
This is not really something you should worry about. Interrupting their day cycle during veg is not a big deal like interrupting their dark cycle during flower.
If it were during flower, you would extend the dark cycle until the start of your normal light hours so the dark period is not interrupted, in veg you simply continue your normal schedule. You can expect the medium to stay wet longer than usual.
“Wow, pretty cloudy and dark today! Okay then.” – your plants. No biggie, in other words.
Either way, Veg or Flower, leave the lights off until your next normal light cycle. It just had a cloudy, rainy day with no light. It won’t miss a beat.
