Hi guys,
I visited USA 2 years ago and I brought 20 or so different genetics while I was there, I never had access to seeds like this and thort feminized was what I wanted so that’s what I got, problem is now I want to start with some basic breeding and also just to replicate the strains I already have so I don’t have to run to many mothers, I have done one round of reversing with colloidal silver and is seemed to work just fine although I have not grown out any of these seeds yet, the thing I need to know is should I even be starting with feminized plants? Am I going to end up with weaker or low yielding plants? do I need to forget about that and breed with male and females and once I find the phenotype I like I can then reverse it if I want fem seeds, keep in mind new genetics are not easy for me to get, I would have to fly over and get some more!
Keep up the good work team!
Cheers from New Zealand
Feminized seeds got the bad rap of being hermie prone. The genetics if you your using on same plant that the pollen came from will create similar plants with some outliers. Something a bit different might be if you started mixing the genetics. Then you would create similar crosses that are helped today. A lot of people say the best and new strains came from female pollen that pollinates another keep in the same flower room. If your trying to recreate a clone type seed than you’ll have to look into selfing and backcrossing to lock in those traits over a few generations. You should be able to do what you need to especially since you can make pollen that is the real thing with males. There are also other specific traits breeders use males to push into a line like plant structure or maybe thc increase.
