Hey guys over the last few weeks I’ve been building 2 new rooms. The flower room is 18×17 and the veg room is 8×18. I’m going to paint the walls and ceiling with flat white but my question is what color should the floor be. Some people say dark floors but you look at a grow tent and the floor is reflective. What do you guys think? Does it even really matter or should I also go with flat white on the floor. Thanks guys.
What color should your grow room floor be?

Arctic Herbs (love the name),
I’ve been mulling this over in my mind as well. When I expand my grow, i’m gonna have to rip a bunch of carpet out of the space. I thought about just painting the floor with a white concrete sealant to reflect any wasted light back up to the lower portions of my plants. I don’t think I’d paint any part of my room dark though.

When I expand in about 12-18 months we will be epoxy a shiney white for the floors. Easy to keep clean and reflective. I used to use the panda plastic (polyurethane) white side up but stopped recently.
I would recommend more of s semi gloss than a flat for your paint too. I think the reflective material on the walls help you from losing light that is reflected away from the canopy.
White is the new Mylar.
