Hello,
I’m hoping I could pick your brains, I have 3 girls that’s are 3 weeks old. They’re growing in 1.5 gal plastic container with 70/30 coco perlite with some LifeClycle Organic Soil Amendment mixed in. They’ve had 3 nutrient feeds with a PPM of no higher than 700, and 2 feeds of pH adjusted water with 1g/L Instant microbe tea. I haven’t tested to PPM of the microbe tea feed but my most recent run off PPM was 2,800! Yes the runoff of 4 times higher than ANY nutrient feeds. Have you experienced anything like this before??
Thank you for your help,
have a great day
This shouldn’t happen with sufficient run off. They certainly don’t need as high a concentration as you’ve given them this young. They are not using what you’re putting in. Cut way back until you have an established plant.
Be careful mixing organic nutrient sources with synthetics. You need to follow a recipe to maintain proper ph and nutrients ratios. Sounds like the original mix was amended then you added synthetics and an unknown with the microbe tea. Lots of food for young plants. Trust in the amended coco or go fully synthetic.
Organic inputs when they leach can show high PPM. A simple compost can leach out tannins that could test out high PPM. Even though it shows high PPM with organics that is showing elements that are not readily available nutrients which is completely different than synthetics that do represent that. I wouldn’t go mixing both to be honest like JustCoolin said.
