Recently I went to a concert with my wife and consumed an edible and toked on a pussy stick before entering the venue. I had a mild buzz by the time I got to my seat (from the “pussy stick I assume) After about an hour or so, the dreaded “these edibles aren’t doin’ shit!” phase arrived. I made a stupid decision to order a double shot of tequila (my drink of choice, on an empty stomach no less). About 5 to 10 minutes later I started to get nauseous so I found a spot to sit down. It was when I started sweating profusely I headed to an outside area for some fresh air. While in the middle of my wife stating that I looked really pale, I passed out and collapsed onto the floor hitting my head and knocked me out for about 5-10 seconds. (Not exactly sure if I was knocked out from passing out or when I hit my head after passing out or a combination of the two)
Ive heard about people having similar experiences. But is this a common thing? I got checked out by EMTs and other than the brain dusting from the fall I have had no other problems.
My wife had the same experience a couple of weeks later. Same senerio, consuming an edible but drinking a couple of beers about an hour later. She was with a couple of friends but this time it happened in a restaurant and she was taken to the ER only to be released after two hours.
They said that her blood pressure dropped to low. But no correlations or causation to the edible. I’m guessing they (hospital staff) are not experienced or are tight lipped about Canabis consumption and alcohol interactions.
Is this a common occurrence?
Thanks for all that you fine people do for the community.

p.s. No long term effects have been noted since these occurrences. we do not mix the two anymore. To be honest I’m good with cutting out the alcohol out completely and so is my wife.
Alcohol is absorbed directly into blood stream 20 percent in stomach. 80 in small intestine. Alcohol dissolves thc. Also dialates blood vessel dropping blood pressure. Also increases the digestive juices in stomach increasing the breakdown of edible. Sounds like a bad concoction. Look at dosing tinctures. They act faster and i believe increase thc absorption. That’s what’s happening like taking huge tincture dose im guessing. Hitting you like a truck and not to mention the alcohol effect. Just smaller edible when drinking and expect to be hit like a mack truck. Sit down for this one.
I recently found in my random researching around the internet that cannabis is a mild blood thinner, and as many of us know, alcohol, also acts as a blood thinner. So to me, it sounds like the tripling down on vaped cannabis, edible cannabis, and shot of tequila, was working to thin your blood WAY too damn much. That is not even counting if you had any medication doing the same thing! That, I believe, is the cause of your low blood pressure and then the sickness and passing out. It is recommended that if you have an upcoming surgery, that you should avoid cannabis prior to that surgery (up to 1 week, I think that is excessive, but I am not a doctor).
Not to bust JustCoolion’s balls here, but you do not want to add a tincture to the mix just adds more alcohol to the mix, but his suggestion is still a good one, only if you are not drinking and you follow the rest of his advice and take it easy on the edibles. #growerslove
Just trying to compare edible and drinking alcohol together like doing a tincture.
Oh my bad, JustCoolin, I misunderstood your post. I do not disagree with you at all then.
This is going to be on Wake & Bake 795 FYI…Thanks for sharing!
