Getting ready to start a new grow and want to try a hempy buckets. Have a question on flushing. How do you flush before harvest or is this not needed since you are watering from the bottom? Could you use a fabric pot inside the bucket and would it wick up? Thank you for the help and the show.

I was just about to post the same lol. just made the switch to hempys myself.. once you plant into the hempys, you gotta top water until your roots hit the 2″ res at the bottom. Not sure about the flushing so ill be checking in on this too. But i would think once your roots hit the bottom res, and when you feed around the 3rd day or so, that feeding would naturally flush out the old mix from the previous feeding.. IF youre using a perlite/verm mix theres no soil to really flush.. so i would just consider it a res change..
I need to make some hemp buckets ! Def worth trying from what they say
Just reduce your feed strength and use plain water at the end. You could always top fed to flush medium if need be. It’ll drain out of the hole unless your not running that setup. In that case just top water at the end plain water to remove salts from soil and get them in the res.
I just ended a run with a Hempy Bucket (check out @socal_dank82 on Insta for a weekly update/diary on the plant I just brought down)…
About 2 weeks before harvest I would water the plant by flooding the top of the media with plain water for a week. 5-7 days before chop I stop all watering (along with dropping temps and humidity). That’s just me… Nothing to back up my actions other than bro-science I’ve read about from others. The next time I run 2 plants, I’ll try to remember to do a side-by-side with/without a flush.
