If the tent height is a factor in your grow then I would suggest a migro array 3. I have a migro array 4 for my 2×4 and it’s my favorite light I’ve tried so far. It’s a simple yet effective design that allows you to get 6 inches away from the canopy while still maintaining great coverage. I’ve pulled 1lb+ under that light a couple times before and the array 3 has more watts than the 4. It’s a great light made by a guy who really cares about making good products and he also does PAR testing on many different lights and has a channel for it. Apparently he has been able to recently lower his prices and I think it would come in at the low side of your budget. I’ve been debating on upgrading my 3×3 light so seeing the price come down has maybe gotten me interested in it.

I have a Volt Grow VL-1 440w in 2 of my 3×3 tents and I have yet to exceed the third or 330w setting. Balanced spectrum and the flexibility of the wing design is great especially to balance light in your tent from corner to corner. $350 Voltlighting.com, I am ordering on of their FL-1 720w soon. Check out the pucks from rapidled.
Their 3×3 fixture is $600, but they are DIY friendly to get the same thing cheaper.
That gives you 400w and dimmable.
The pucks have been my favorite design for coverage.

I just got these lights…they’re pretty sweet. Super bright, 150W each, they’re linkable and can be daisy-chained, so you can make the light as big or small as you want. One of them is wifi the other isn’t but I can control it with the wifi one. There’s also a $40 discount on them right now as well.

The 350 R from horticulture lighting group is in your budget and larger than your footprint. It will veg 5 x 5 and flower a 3 x 5. I’m happy with my HLG 750 diablos. I run two of them in a 4 x 8 at 50%. They pull less power and run cooler. I just lower them down to get my PPFD. I do have fans above my lights to cool the ballasts even more. HLG does not recommend removing them.
