HLG 30 UVA

What’s up DGC,

Had quick question for anyone running an HLG 550R or 600, has tried the HLG UVA 30 yet? It says it’s designed to run “12 hours”, so it’d only before flowering? If running autos on a 18/6 or 20/4 schedule how and when would be the best time to run it?

Looks like they are trying to use it as a late flower stressor as opposed to a full cycle supplemental light. Uva is known to increase cell division in turn faster growth. If you want to go by their description then the last 3-4 weeks of flower would be ideal to try and get increased trichome production. This light might be so intense that a gradual buildup might be best. Say starting at 2 hours a day working up to 12hrs a day. Not sure of the life span of these diodes or I would reccomended full lifecycle from seed but that’s just me. Basically a light to stress the plants into making more secondary metabolites.

Thanks for the response. Honestly I was confused on what the UVA light did. I “assumed” it was only for flowering do to the 12 hour suggested run time. I guess I thought it was supplemental lighting like rapid LED’s 2 grow bars but in 1….? Trying to find some reviews but not many up yet.

Yo, yo. I just grabbed 2 of those to go on my 2 hlg600 r-specs. I think they have been purposely engineered at a low wattage so they can run 12 hours per day, without harm to the plant, and probably to conserve the diodes as well. I just thought the design was so dope and the fact that they fill in part of the spectrum missing from the 600 spec, they were a must buy. They will help the plant finish with a glistening, dat dare sunscreen of trichs! Hahahaha! But for real, I just think the more we can round out the spectrum the better. HLG continues to make there lights better and better and listen to there clientele. Their customer service is proper so I’m actually interested in calling them now to see what their recommendation is for the UVA lights…since I have 2 of them coming! Chem-Mattik-Mattik

Thanks for the response. That sounds exactly, or how I understood it in this video I just found now. It sounds like its the last 2-3 week for building trichs.
