So i was listening to the show last night and started to see yellow flower sacks on my plants. I investigated more with my microscope and haven’t ever seen such little formations on my buds before. So, I stuck out my feelers to friends and a person said it was a hermaphrodite. So, I chopped it down and hung it to dry… is there any way this could be even decent smoke to dry and cure? Thanks guys the show is a great part of my day.
Is a hermaphrodite plant still smokable

Yes and no. A very seeded crop is going to have seeds ranging from tiny to large and the taste of a seed will make you want to leave that buds alone. If it hermed late you may end up with a few seeds or maybe none at all. The seeds are what kills the crop as far as smokable and quality.
It’s a plant with both sexes. So smoke the female. If she spit a few dicks from the buds o well. Just don’t bring it to the cup or she might get dinged a point right before they smoke her lol. Remember Dude talking about adam dunn cup where they picked one bud over another for that. Some times just a light leak, genetics, or thinking a 4ft high cfl spiral bulb couldn’t mess with her at night every once and awhile. Well i was wrong changed light times on next grow and voila. Maybe a picture to show what your working with. In my teens i smoked some male pollen flowers because we read they were suppose to contain any thc the male procured needless to say i wouldn’t recommend.
How far was it into flower? Some plants will do this naturally when taken too long. It is an evolutionary adaptation and completely normal. It will not ruin your crop at all if this is the case. If the bananas started to develop earlier in flower they are a concern. However, if there aren’t too many sacks I wouldn’t chop down, you’re just hurting your yield and potency. I would simply hand pick them. Even if one or two get away from you, only a couple of buds will get pollinated, that’s if the pollen is viable at all. You will still get killer bid from the rest of the plant. If there are sacks everywhere then you have a bummer plant. It might just be worth it to start over.
Killer *bud. And yes, you can cure and smoke it, but again, if you chopped too early it won’t be anything near what it could have been.
If the bud has seeds in it you can still use it, just get one of those cheap plastic grinders with the plastic teeth, you know like everyone’s starter grinder or the grinder the head shop prints their name on. The plastic teeth are angled and much more gentle on seeds.
If you don’t force the grind you can still separate most of the seeds away from the herb and smoke just fine.
You can also wash it as bubble hash if you’ve ever seen that. I highly recommend picking up some bubble bags for your trim anyway. Waste not want not.
Some people are sensitive to weed pollen just like any pollen, so some folks can’t smoke hermed bud just based on that. Otherwise it’s not a big deal. Just take the seeds out. Don’t plant them though those seeds are garbage. Eat them in your cereal, they’re hemp seeds.
