Hey DGC!
I’ starting to plan my outdoor grow (it’s never too early) and had a question. I’m interesting in making the greenhouse a bit more private than last year. I was thinking about getting the lowest percentage shade cloth, looks like the lowest is 20 percent, to make it more private. Does anyone have experience using one? I was wondering if it would effect my yields drastically or not.
PS.
I live in Colorado so the sun is nice and strong.
Thanks!

Plants don’t need full sun all day. As long as its DLI is met, it should work. A little full morning sun then shade in the afternoon would work. We do this on our veggie garden outside. The sun was killing us until we shaded it. Im sure Cannabis would act the same.
Doing the same with plastic. Everything we had in direct sun got fucked with or died last season. California is changing to super hot and fires every year. It sucks.
I had great results last year in So. Cal. under 60% shade cloth. In hindsight, I would have gone with 40% instead, however there were a few weeks of 110 degree heat where I was glad to have the 60%.
Next time I replace my shade cloth, I think I’ll go with 40% and just by a little extra that I can throw over the grow space on the extreme days. #growerslove
