Sous vide : not just for steaks

After a couple years experimenting making vape carts with hash rosin. I’ve tried it all. For the last year i thought adding terpenes that were properly mixed to not need any additional diluters, dewaxers, or liquidizers was… the right way. But this leads to everything tasting the same. Still risking using to much and having negative effects of vaping terpenes.

USING TERPENES TO MAKE ROSIN RUNNY IS NOT AN OK METHOD.

so we need a stable and precise heat source. Something 150°F for 48hours. Safely and effecient. Momma won’t let you take the oven for 2 days for a tiny jar of rosin!

The typical options are $600+ lab ovens. $300 advantco restaurant toaster oven. Or if you have a bread proof option on your countertop oven that will hold a low temp 150° and you feel safe enough to run it for upto 48hours. You also need to think about wattage. Overloading circuits, electric cost compared to the vape carts cost etc.

This lead me to asking for the ultimate Christmas gift with a secret benefit. Vape carts.

I chopped up my oreoz plants, tossed them in the freezer for 2 days. Gave them a wash (with some trimmings from the triminator from the flower plants) .. this landed me a few sheets of hash between 45-160micron. Sifting through a strainer for an even drying. 4 days later I pressed 29grams of hash at 175° (37micron bags) And made some beautiful oreoz hash rosin!

Now to process this further, The low decarbing step to change the consistency to a liquid state that will remain vape cart stable and not crash out or clog.

Sous vide heated the water to 150° for 43hours. (Small batch like this I’ve found in the the 20hr range would work. 40+ is for large 4-8oz jars) you just want to go until the bubbles stop. IN A SEALED JAR.

Filling a few empty carts and some rechargeable disposables these are by far the best vape carts I’ve ever had. Everyone loves them. The hash rosin it’s self came out so good its almost sad to put in a cart but since I’m not ruining with terpenes that make everything taste the same gross taste it’s not that big of a crime.
