What’s up Guys!!
I notice that I have been getting swollen Calyx on all my grows lately. I’m growing indoors with Mars Hydro TS 1000 Led in a 8 x 8 tent with fresh out side air in and vented out to a separate room. Temp is 26 c and humidity is 30 to 33%. I’m using a local liquid nutrient that has always been top notch for my grows. I guess I’m just asking what causes swollen calyx and what harm does it do to my grow?

Harm? lol, I can understand the confusion as most people have never seen a truly mature flower. This is natural and if your false seed bracts do not swell, you’re doing it wrong and are what’s known as a baby killer. 😉

It sounds like good news if you are towards the end of flower.
Swelling is usually one of two reason, you have seeds or your plant is nearing its harvest date. Calyx will swell to form the bulk of the bud as it matures. If you have large swollen pods and you are in week 3, I usually would suspect you have seeds forming in there.
I have to chime in here….. 1 Ts1000 in a 8×8? That may be a little low for what that size tent requires. That won’t have much affect on your Calyx size but you are leaving a lot on the table there. I run 700 watts of LED in a 4×4. A ts 1000 is around 150 watts. I realize lights are expensive and we get what we can. They are the most important part of a grow. I would recommend lights over fancy nute bottles anyday. Your stuff looks killer! Good job!
